This policy explains what information Red Chilli collects when you order through our website or the Red Chilli Android app, and how we use it. Red Chilli runs restaurants in Thiruthuraipoondi, Velankanni and Karaikal, Tamil Nadu, India.

What we collect

• Your account: name, mobile number, email (optional) and password when you create a Red Chilli account. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication; we never see them.
• Your saved delivery addresses, only if you add them.
• Your location, only when you tap "Use my current location" while adding a delivery address, so our delivery person can find you. It is saved with that address and sent to the shop with delivery orders. The app never tracks your location in the background.
• Your order: items, choices, notes for the kitchen, amount, pickup or delivery, and how you plan to pay.

We do not collect your contacts, photos, or payment card details. Payment is made by cash or UPI directly at the shop or on delivery.

How we use it

• To prepare, deliver and hand over your order, and to call you about it if needed.
• To show you the status of your order.
• To keep sales and tax records required for running the restaurant.

We do not sell your information and do not use it for advertising.

Where it is stored

Orders are sent over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), and on the billing tablet of the store you ordered from. Your profile, saved addresses and order list are stored in your Red Chilli account so you can use them on any phone. Your cart and login are also kept on your own phone.

Who can see it

Only Red Chilli staff at the store you ordered from, and the owner. We share it with no one else, except where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept as long as needed for accounts and tax purposes. You can ask us to delete your name, phone number and address from our records at any time.

Children

Our ordering service is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Deleting your account

In the app or on the website, go to Account › Delete my account and enter your password. This immediately deletes your login, profile, saved addresses and order list. You can also ask us to delete your account by calling or emailing us (details below); we do this within 7 days. Orders you already placed stay in the store's sales records for accounts and tax purposes.
